Dr. Jones presents at Collapse and Extinction Conference

Jun 3, 2021, 08:01 AM by Beverly Claussen

Dr. Anne Hudson Jones presented “The Arc of Hope in Postapocalyptic American Films: From On the Beach to The Midnight Sky,” in the concluding session titled “Hope,” at a special  conference on Collapse and Extinction: Art, Literature and Discourse, organized and hosted by scholars at Stockholm University, Sweden, and the University of Tartu, Estonia, April 28-29, 2021.  The conference aimed “to question the notion of collapse,” as well as “the kind of literary genres that appear in parallel with a discourse on collapsology,” and the ways “they relate to the factual processes of climate change and sixth mass extinction.”  Selected proceedings with be published in the peer-reviewed international journal Environmental Humanities, published by Duke University Press.
